Today, Microsoft Corp. announced that it is bringing the power of next-generation Artificial Intelligence (AI) to its workplace productivity tools with Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Copilot, currently in testing with a select group of enterprise customers, combines the power of Large Language Models (LLMs) with business data and Microsoft 365 applications to unleash creativity, improve productivity, and take skills to the next level.
Customers will experience Microsoft 365 Copilot in two ways:
Microsoft 365 Copilot is not just a better way of doing the same old things. It is a completely new way of working. Copilot will work with Microsoft 365 customers in two ways:
· First, it is integrated into the Microsoft 365 applications people use every day: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, among others.
· Today, Microsoft also announced a completely new experience: Business Chat, which works with LLM, Microsoft 365 applications, calendar, emails, chats, documents, meetings, and a customer’s contacts to do tasks that couldn’t be done before. Through natural language prompts like “explain to my team how we updated the product strategy,” Business Chat will generate a status update based on morning meetings, emails, and chat threads.
With Copilot, the customer is always in control. Customers decide what to keep, modify, or discard. With these new tools, people can be more creative in Word, more analytical in Excel, more expressive in PowerPoint, more productive in Outlook, and more collaborative in Teams.
A new way of working
Microsoft 365 Copilot seamlessly integrates into the applications people use every day, helping them in their workflow and freeing up time to focus more on their goal than on repetitive issues.
· Copilot in Word writes, edits, summarizes, and creates with people as they work.
· Copilot in PowerPoint facilitates the creation process, turning ideas into a designed presentation through natural language commands.
· Copilot in Excel helps unlock information, identify trends, or create professional-looking data visualizations in less time than was previously required.
· Copilot in Outlook can help synthesize and manage the Outlook inbox, leaving more time for real communications.
· Copilot in Teams makes meetings more productive, with real-time summaries and action points directly in the context of the conversation.
· Copilot in Power Platform will help devel
opers of all skill levels speed up development with low-code tools, with the introduction of two new capabilities within Power Apps and Power Virtual Agents.
· Business Chat brings together data from documents, presentations, email, calendar, notes, and contacts to help summarize chats, write emails, find key dates, or even draft a plan based on other project files.
